The Bachelor’s degree is achieved through an accredited 4-year university or college in the U.S.. Bachelor’s degrees are expected to be completed in 3 or 4 years, but can be more, depending on the course of study. There are two main types of Bachelor’s degrees. These include a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), based on the type of courses taken and passed. Many professional workplaces require at least a Bachelor’s degree to become employed. The field of degree study is often not important to receive employment. With a Bachelor’s degree, a certain number of curriculum credits are required. The student completes a set number of general education courses, as well as all the courses required for a chosen field of academic study. There are many more options for course of study available for the Bachelor’s degree than there are for the Associate degree. Bachelor’s degrees are widely respected and accepted as a standard of higher education across the U.S..
